The operational life is extended by regular maintenance and replacement of the normal parts.
Check your Saniflo pumps parts on a planned cycle. Check the membrane for flexibility and if it is getting hard, then replace it. The membrane is held on and sealed with a two part clip. This can be fragile and should be ordered at the same time as the membrane, Remove the clip with a specialised tool. If you do not have the tool, be careful or replace the clip with the one you bought.
Take the switch paddle off once the clip and membrane is removed, and examine the microswitch. There are several grades of microswitch and the code is on the side of it. Be sure to order the correct switch for your pump as they have different resistance characteristics and the machine will not operate as intended if the wrong switch is installed.
Another element which should be checked is the capacitor. These vary depending on the model and the strength of the motor. The capacitor give the motor a boost when starting and can age and fail over time. It is prudent to have a spare capacitor for the unit in case of failure.
